...But your life is like money handed over to you. It was given to make an investment. Will you use it to gain interest, by making the investment as your life was intended to make, or will you use it up, gaining nothing in the end?
The Giver of your life is the True Owner of what has been given, thus, it is not actually your life. Its usage has only been given unto you so that you may fulfill the purpose of why it was given. What then, would He think of you, if you came back with no interest from what was supposed to be used as an investment, all because you rather spend than to invest?
